Desert Sunset Sirocco - Decorative Wood and Resin Plate

This piece evokes the imagery of the American Southwest desert at sunset, where the sky transforms into a canvas of rich oranges and yellows. As a sandstorm approaches, the atmosphere thickens, and you can almost feel the tension in the air. The wind howls through the crevasses, creating an eerie yet captivating sound that resonates with the vastness of the landscape. The interplay of light and shadow adds to the drama, making the scene both beautiful and foreboding.

There is so much character to this piece. Mixtures of colors and textures give way to deep yellows and meld together with the natural spalted figuring in the wood grain . With over a 38” circumference, this is the largest plate I’ve created yet.  Made from, spalted, big leaf Maple with orange and yellow resin accenting the bottom and the sides. This gorgeous piece will be the centerpiece in any room.
